Sometimes it seems like as soon as late August hits, there’s Pumpkin Spice Lattes or some version of them in every coffee shop you can find. The best fall coffee I ever had was at an independent coffee shop that unfortunately is no longer open, but they created multiple test batches to find the perfect mixture of pumpkin puree, spices, coffee, and milk. It was delicious and tasted like the real thing.
I’ve been wanting to make a sugar scrub version similar to this, but it’s been a bit tricky getting the recipe exactly where I want it. This recipe is from my second batch, in which I decided not to use any Cinnamon. It may seem odd, but there are enough other spices that it actually smells like there’s Cinnamon in it!
Also, this sugar scrub is doing a bit of double duty: it also resonates with the astrological sign of Scorpio. Most of the plants that correlate to the astrological sign of Scorpio are spicy (just like the sign): Allspice, Cardamom, Clove, Black Pepper, Vanilla, and Coffee, to name a few.
I first tried a mixture of Cardamom and Clove, but it was missing something. So I added dried Orange Peel and the spice Mace, which brought out the notes in Cardamom and Clove, and they all blend together to give you that cozy scent of fall.
This sugar scrub can be made just for you, for someone who loves fall, or as a gift for a Scorpio friend. Just keep in mind that spices should most likely not be used by someone who is pregnant, so if you are pregnant, check with your doctor first. Also, make sure you do a patch test on yourself by using some of the sugar scrub on your arm to make sure there isn’t an allergic reaction. If you’re making it for someone else, you can tell them to do the same before using it on their whole body.

Psychic awareness, protection, money-drawing, clairvoyance, psychic power, luck
Orange
Love, luck, divination, healing, harmony, joy, energy, money-drawing, prosperity, psychic awareness, aligning the sacral and solar plexus chakras
Pumpkin Spice/Scorpio Sugar Scrub Recipe
1 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Coconut Oil, melted
pinch of Black Pepper (optional)
1/2 tsp Allspice
1/2 tsp Cardamom
1/2 tsp Cloves
1/4 tsp Mace
1/2 tsp dried Orange Peel
Combine all ingredients together and stir until thoroughly combined. Do a patch test on your skin before using to make sure you don’t have an allergic reaction.
Store in an airtight container and use within two weeks or so. Enjoy!
