How to Manifest With the New Moon in Sagittarius

On Wednesday, November 27, 2019 there will be a New Moon in the sign of Sagittarius. This marks a potent time for setting new intentions that relate to the sign of Sagittarius—expansion, education, freedom, travel, and the general enjoyment of life. Find out more about the New Moon phase, the sign of Sagittarius, and how you can use these energies to set new intentions for your life.

The New Moon

The New Moon, which takes place on Wednesday, November 27, comes after the Dark Moon the day before. The Moon is often used as an example of life, rebirth, and death because of its cycles. The Dark Moon gets its name because, for about three days, the Earth is completely blocking any sunlight from reflecting off of the Moon, and the Moon can’t be seen in the night sky. As the Earth moves and the light shifts, a small sliver appears, just as it did before the Dark Moon. Only in this case, the Moon’s energy is growing, and with each passing day more and more light will shine upon the Moon, leading up to the Full Moon, when it’s completely illuminated.

At each New Moon there’s an opportunity to set new intentions, and on November 27 you can use the aspects of the sign of Sagittarius. When you set intentions, one method is to write down what you want, and either speak it aloud to the universe or repeat it in your mind. You can hand write it on a piece of paper or keep it on your phone, tablet, or computer. One way to set intentions is to tell the universe what you would like to happen in your life over the next six months until they culminate during the Full Moon in Sagittarius on Friday, June 5, 2020.

Some set their intentions, read them aloud, and then set them on fire as a way of sending them into the universe. But if you would like to remember your intentions, it’s easier to keep them saved on a device so you can refer to them on the subsequent Full Moon in Sagittarius. This way you can look back and reflect on what came to be in your life, what didn’t, and you can evaluate what you would like to do differently in the future, or even what lessons you learned since the last New Moon.

The Sign of Sagittarius

Sagittarius is a Mutable sign, meaning it likes change. Each sign’s energy is directly related to the season in which it lands, and all Mutable signs (Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces) each come at the end of their season. Sagittarius marks the end of autumn, and ends right before December 21, the Winter Solstice, the longest night and the shortest day of the year.

The interesting thing about the sign of Sagittarius is that everything about this sign could speak to preparing for the last gasp before winter, but that’s not the case. Similar to its ruling planet Jupiter, Sagittarius is all about expansion, learning and discovering new things, getting outdoors and doing athletic activities, teaching and inspiring others. Sagittarius is not a sign that likes to be tied down—it would prefer to be traveling the world, seeing, tasting, learning, loving, sharing.

When you combine the energy of this sign with the New Moon, it brings together a potent energy for new beginnings.

Some Things to Keep in Mind

As a Fire sign, Sagittarius rules over communication, action, and passion, and the next New Moon in a Fire sign will not be until the New Moon in Aries on March 24, 2020. This means the New Moon in Sagittarius is a great time to set your sights on all that you want to discover and accomplish until next spring.

The next New Moon will be on December 26, 2019 in Capricorn. This New Moon will be an excellent time to set new intentions for career, work, home, money, and your overall drive. The New Moon in Sagittarius is a great time to set the larger goals you have in mind for your life, while the next New Moon in Capricorn will be a good time to get specific about how those goals apply to your career and finances.

Combined, the energies of these two New Moons can help you set the tone for the beginning of 2020, and what you want to focus on in the start of the next year. Do you want to travel more? Do you want to learn something new, and use that new skill to make money or start a career? Sagittarius rules expansion while Capricorn rules focus—consider how you can use these aspects and signs to your advantage to create more of the things you want in your life.
